What 'no-logs' actually means — and what to look for in any VPN

Many providers say no-logs but log plenty. We break down what categories of data exist, which we collect, and which we deliberately don't.

The fine print

Almost every VPN claims to be "no-logs". The interesting question is what kind of logs they don't keep. Logs come in three buckets: connection logs (when you connect, from where), traffic logs (what you do while connected), and service logs (subscription state, anonymous device IDs).

What GoVPN keeps

  • A subscription receipt, returned by the App Store / Google Play.
  • An anonymous device token for push notifications, only if enabled.
  • Aggregate per-server connection counts — never tied to a user.

What GoVPN never keeps

  • Browsing history, DNS queries, or destination IPs.
  • Originating IPs linked to identifiable accounts.
  • Per-user bandwidth usage.
